Music industry experts have brutally predicted that Cheryl’s once illustrious music career is all but over and she won’t release any new music following the flop releases of her recent singles.

The 38-year-old chart topping star has been in the spotlight for the past 20 years after originally finding fame on Popstars: The Rivals in 2002 where she became a founding member of girl band Girls Aloud.

She later embarked on a solo career in 2009 and has also enjoyed success as a TV talent show judge – reaching ‘national treasure’ status while working on The X Factor between 2008 and 2015.

But now music experts are claiming Chezza’s music career is on the chopping board after her most recent single, Let You – released in May 2019 – reached only number 57 in the charts.

A music industry source has told The Sun: “Let You was a flop. It was incredibly embarrassing for her and those at the label when it limped to No57.

“There is nothing Cheryl can do about it — times have changed and people have moved on. She is still an incredibly popular live singer and thousands came out to watch her perform at the Mighty Hoopla festival in September.

“But when it comes to making new music, it seems like Cheryl’s swansong has been sung for a final time.”

And another insider claimed: “Nobody is banking on new music to make any waves.”

Mirror has contacted a representative of Cheryl for comment.

Across the past two decades, Cherly has enjoyed incredible success both as a member of Girls Aloud and as a solo artist.

Girls Aloud released two chart topping albums – the 2008 record Out Of Control and their 2006 Greatest Hits album titled The Sound of Girls Aloud.

The group – which also included Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts, Kimberley Walsh and the late Sarah Harding – also enjoyed singles success with Sound Of The Underground, I’ll Stand By You, Walk This Way, and The Promise all hitting the top of the charts.

Meanwhile, Cheryl’s debut solo single Fight For This Love shot to the top of the charts back in 2009 – with later singles Promise This, Call My Name, Crazy Stupid Love and I Don’t Care all reaching the top spot.

The achievement put Cheryl in the history books as she became the first British female solo artist to achieve five number one singles – a record later surpassed by Jess Glynne in 2018.

Cheryl’s first tow albums; 3 Words and Messy Little Raindrops, also hit the top spot of the album charts.

In more recent years, Cheryl has stepped away from the world of music with her last single released in the early half of 2019.

She took a judging spot on The Greatest Dancer between 2019 and 2020 – and has also been spending time raising her son Bear, who she shares with ex-partner Liam Payne.

More recently Cheryl has been spending time promoting Feel vitamin products after being unveiled as the face of the brand earlier this year – while she also enjoyed a barnstorming performance a the Mighty Hoopla festival in London over the summer.
