Insomniac’s Day Trip dance party comes to Queen Mary Waterfront this weekend

Insomniac’s Day Trip dance party comes to Queen Mary Waterfront this weekend

The Queen Mary will serve as the backdrop for Insomniac’s Day Trip house music festival in Long Beach.

More than 30 DJs will be performing on two stages during the weekend festival happening June 25-26 at the Queen Mary Waterfront park (also known as Harry Bridges Memorial Park).

The Saturday lineup includes performers like deep-house DJ Kryptogram on the High Tide stage and twin sisters Coco and Breezy spinning tunes on the Deep End stage. Joining them on day one will be Eden Prince, a music producer from the UK who blends energetic house music with a bit of soul, and veteran Los Angeles DJ Marques Wyatt.

On Sunday, Kyle Kinch — who mixes house, disco and techno in his sets — will close the night on the High Tide Stage while L.A. native Juliet Mendoza headlines the Deep End Stage. Other DJs set to perform on the final day include Korean-American DJ and producer Sohmi and Martin Ikin, a DJ and jazz pianist who has remixed songs for artists such as Maria Carey and Jamiroquai.

The 15,000-person-capacity waterside venue has hosted several music festivals including Smokin’ Grooves, Just Like Heaven, Summertime in the LBC and One Love Cali Reggae Fest. While it has hosted smaller events recently, including the LA WineFest in October, Day Trip, which debuted at NOS Event Center in San Bernardino after originally relocating from the Los Angeles Waterfront San Pedro and Hollywood Park in Inglewood last July, will be the first large-scale music festival at the venue since the start of the pandemic.
