Instagram Trend To Post Pet Pictures For Tree Plantation Goes Viral

An ongoing Instagram trend has seen pet parents sharing pictures of their pets with the caption: We’ll plant a tree for every pet picture. However, it is still unsure as to who the “we” is in this scenario. But after realizing how viral this trend went an organization ‘Plant a Tree Co.’ has shouldered the responsibility of starting the campaign.

In an Instagram story, the group claimed that Instagram was not crediting it and invited viewers to contact the social media giant to “fix the bug. “After recognizing that the trend was out of their control, the Instagram page is now trying to raise over $1.3 million for tree planting.

The group explained that they realized right away that the post would grow too large and that they didn’t have the resources to plant so many trees.

Tech Muster, an Instagram video creator, posted a video instructing users how to discover the “Add Yours” sticker on their accounts on Monday.

Since then, Naveen, the India-based Tech Muster, has been bombarded with queries about how he plans to plant over three million trees. He has been texting individuals to inform them that he is not behind it and it was launched by an organization, he also said that the post was later deleted, making it impossible to determine who started the trend. Some people asked him to show the place where the trees are being planted or, who was supporting him to plant so many trees?

There were around 571,000 people who had posted the picture on the first day and has now approximately reached five million. This means that Plant a Tree Co. will have to plant around five million trees.
