Champions League ties in full after redraw fiasco

Italian giants Inter have confirmed midfielder Christian Eriksen has had his contract at the club terminated by mutual consent.

The Denmark midfielder has not played football since suffering a cardiac arrested during his nation’s Euro 2020 match against Finland in June.

The former Tottenham player had an ICD (Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator) inserted following the incident, in which he harrowingly collapsed during the game in Copenhagen before receiving instant medical care.

Eriksen would have been unable to continue playing in Serie A unless he had the ICD removed due to league rules and both the player and club accepted a continuation of his contract would not have been practical.

There has been no confirmation over whether the 29-year-old will continue his professional career.

Christian Eriksen made 60 appearances for Inter Milan, scoring eight goals
