Glashutte Original, a German watchmaker that has been in business since 1845, recently announced the release of its new limited edition watch, the Glashutte Original Senator Excellence Perpetual Calendar.

Art and Beauty

Glashutte Original’s mission is to make watchmaking into not just a painstaking craft, but also an art. Their latest limited edition watch does so quite beautifully. Compelling on the inside and out, this new timepiece features a rose opaline dial and a dark blue leather strap. These colors look absolutely stunning together, and aren’t something you see every day.

Much care has gone into every detail of this watch. For that reason, only one hundred are being produced, adding rarity and collectability to its beauty and efficiency.

No Need to Reset Until the Year 2100

Perhaps the most special feature of the Perpetual Calendar is its astonishing mechanical memory. These theoretically will not need to be set until the turn of the next century, in the year 2100.

Of course, all manner of time is measured precisely with this watch. Its functions include our, minute, second, second stop, day of the week, month and leap year display, moon phase, and Panorama Date.

Other Features to Note

The Glashutte Original Senator Excellence Perpetual Calendar has a diameter of 42 mm and a height of 12.8 mm. The galvanized rose opaline dial has lovely blue appliques and the hands are pear shaped and blued. The front glass and case back are sapphire crystal. The front glass is also antireflective on both sides. The strap is made from blue Louisiana Alligator leather. The case is stainless steel.

The watch has a runtime of 100 hours. The movement is an automatic winding Calibre 36-12, finely finished.

How to Purchase Your Watch

Overall, the Glashutte Original Senator Excellence Perpetual Calendar is an excellent addition to the Glashutte Original Family. This has been proven through 24 days of comprehensive testing in the Saxon manufactory. Each case back is engraved with a guarantee of the watch’s quality.

If you are interested in owning one of these limited edition watches, don’t delay as only one hundred have been produced. They became available at the end of October and can be purchased from Glashutte Original Boutiques or authorized dealers.
