The incident happened on the fourth over of DC’s innings when Shaw tapped a delivery from Mohammed Siraj towards extra cover and set himself off for a single. But much to the surprise of everyone, Rawat dived to his right, picked the ball and released it within fraction of a second to dismantle the stumps.
“Oh, he is gone. This is sensational!,” thrilled Sanjay Manjrekar, who was on air at that moment, said. Notably, Rawat had walked in as the Impact player for RCB and he was earlier trolled and criticised for scoring 15 unbeaten runs off 22 runs. Shaw came to open as an Impact player for DC.

Earlier, Delhi won the toss and elected to field first. RCB openers Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli gave a cracking start to the hosts at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The duo partnered for 42 runs off just 27 balls before the latter departed for 22 off 26 balls.
However, Kohli (50 off 34) continued on one end to hit his third fifty of the season. Delhi bowlers later pulled things back as RCB were restricted to 174/6 in 20 overs despite cruising at 117/2 in 12.2 overs at one point.
Mitchell Marsh and Kuldeep Yadav picked two wickets each for Delhi who have lost each of their first four matches in the IPL 2023.
