The IPL 2023 season witnessed bowlers who played crucial roles in the success of their teams. Journey of a few of them ended in the league stage but the impact they had on the entire tournament was massive. Let’s have a look at IPL 2023 ‘Best Bowling 11’

Rashid Khan (GT): GT’s Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid finished the sixteenth edition of the IPL as the joint-highest wicket-taker. In 17 matches, he picked 27 wickets at an average of 20.44 and an economy rate of 8.23.

Mitchell Marsh (DC): The Delhi Capitals (DC) fast bowling all-rounder picked 12 wickets in nine matches at an average of 14.16 and an economy rate of 8.42. He also picked a four-fer in his limited outings.

Ravichandran Ashwin (RR): The veteran off-spinner continues to impress in the shortest format of the game. Playing for Rajasthan Royals (RR) Ashwin picked 14 wickets in 13 matches at an average of 26.28 and an economy rate of 7.51.

Axar Patel (DC): The left-arm spinner was the standout performer for Delhi Capitals this season. He picked

Ravindra Jadeja (CSK): The star left-arm spinner was the hero of the IPL 2023 final but he did his magic with the ball in the second innings as well. He broke the threatening 67-run opening stand by getting the wicket of dangerous Shubman Gill.

Overall, the IPL 2023 saw him pick 20 wickets at an average of 21.55 and an economy rate of 7.56. He picked 11 wickets in 14 matches at an average of 30.72 and a strike rate of 7.19.

Sunil Narine (KKR): Kolkata Knight Riders’ West Indian star Sunil Narine picked 11 wickets at an average of 34.81 and an economy of 7.97. He had an underwhelming season as per his standards but he still can’t be ignore from a best IPL 2023 bowling eleven.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar (SRH): The senior India pacer was one of the positives for for Sunrisers Hyderabad this season. He struck in powrplay overs and was decent towards the business ends of the innings. Overall, he picked 16 wickets in 14 matches at an average of 26.56 and a strike rate of 8.33.

Piyush Chawla (MI): The IPL 2023 also saw the revival of veteran leg-spinner Piyush Chawla who went unsold last year. Picked by Mumbai Indians ahead of this season, the 34-year-old came all guns blazing to become only shining light in MI’s bowling unit.

He picked 22 wickets – third-highest in IPL 2023 – at an average of 22.50 and an economy rate of 8.11.

Varun Chakravarthy (KKR): The Kolkata Knight Riders spinner finished one wicket short of Yuzvendra Chahal’s tally of 21 wickets but he looked more threatening between the two. After a horrid run in the IPL 2022, Chakravarthy’s comeback was stunning.

He picked six wickets from 11 matches in 2022. This year, the leg-spinner picked 20 wickets – joint fifth-highest – at an average of 21.45 and an economy rate of 8.14.

Mohammed Shami (GT): The Gujarat Titans paver won the Purple Cap for taking highest wickets in the IPL 2023. He picked 28 wickets at an average of 18.64 and an economy rate of 8.03.

Mohammed Siraj (RCB): The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) pacer was electric in the powerplay overs. Overall, he picked 19 wickets in 14 matches at an average of 19.73 and an economy rate of 7.50.

Impact Substitute: Mohit Sharma (GT) – The pacer finished as the second-highest wicket-taker in the IPL 2023 alongside Rashid Khan. He picked 27 wickets at an average of 13.37 and an economy rate of 8.17.
