Vaughan said that it was a matter of time that Hardik would become the white-ball captain of India. Explaining his comment, Hardik said that the 29-year-old has got the midas touch, body language and calmness to lead India to glory in the shorter formats of the game.

“Hardik Pandya is going to captain India. I can convince all of you listening to this, that he is going to captain India. I don’t know when it is going to be. He will captain India in white-ball cricket,” Vaughan told Cricbuzz.
“He has got the calmness, he has got the game. I’m worried about his injury to his back, but he has just got that persona right in the middle. You can see his body language.
“The way he maneuvers his field calmly. The way he makes his bowling changes. Yes, he has got two outstanding spinners and Mohammed Shami, who has been the best seamer in the tournament. You need bowlers as a captain. He has got that midas touch you need to be an outstanding white-ball captain,” Vaughan added.
The star all-rounder is already leading the Indian T20I side after the T20 World Cup 2022. The former Mumbai Indians (MI) player led GT to title win in their maiden attempt last year.
This year too, he has led the team to the final where he would be up against his mentor and India’s most successful white-ball captain MS Dhoni.
