IPL 2023 Final: MS Dhoni Turned Emotional After Golden Duck – CSK Skipper Proves He’s A Human Being

The Chennai Super Kings captain played his 250th IPL match as he led his CSK side to the 10th final in IPL history. They took on Gujarat Titans but in the end failed to win the match as the Super Kings won the match in a last-ball thriller.

MS Dhoni

MS Dhoni – arguably one of the greatest finishers of all-time – came out to bat in the run chase when CSK needed 22 runs in 14 balls. CSK teammates and fans were assured that their beloved Thala will finish the game.

The entire Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad created a chaotic cacophony in support of their favourite hero. The roof of the stadium broke when the veteran came out to bat, and the spectators were dreaming of a Dhoni magic, which would have given CSK their 5th IPL title.

But they were left stunned as Dhoni lasted only a single ball. In his very first ball, the CSK captain opened the face of his bat but only managed to hit it straight to cover. David Miller made no mistake to gobble up a simple catch as the whole stadium turned to utter pin-drop silence.

Dhoni, who is known for showing the minimum of emotions, had a grimace on his face as he walked back to the dugout. The CSK skipper was visibly emotional and it kind of was a cruel anticlimax for the CSK captain, but it all ended well for them.

Ravindra Jadeja scored 10 runs off the last two balls as GT won the match by 5 wickets, and now have lifted the IPL trophy for the 5th time.
