The IPL 2023 season witnessed bowlers who played crucial roles in the success of their teams. However, there were a few big names who failed to impress and gave below-par performances that shocked everyone. Some high-profile names in ‘IPL 2023 Flop Bowling 11’.

Kagiso Rabada (PBKS): The South African pace sensation played six matches and took seven wickets at an average of 33.14 and a strike rate of 10.08. His fitness remained in question and he missed a bunch of matches and the reasons remained unknown.

Anrich Nortje (DC): Same was the case with Rabada’s compatriot. Nortje just failed to get going in the IPL 2023 where he picked 10 wickets in as many matches at an average of 36.40 and a strike rate of 9.10.

Umran Malik (SRH): The Sunrisers Hyderabad pacer failed to emulate his IPL 2022 performance. He picked five wickets in eight matches at an average of 43.40 and an economy rate of 43.40.

Jorfra Archer (MI): The costly Mumbai Indians buy did not give anything in return for the second consecutive year. Injuries allowed him to play for five matches only. In the five matches, Archer managed to pick two wickets at an average of 95 and an economy rate of 9.50.

Washington Sundar (SRH): The Sunrisers Hyderabad spinner was also ruled out due to injury, however, he did not do anything major with the ball during his stay. Sunday played seven matches and picked three wickets at an average of 48.66 and an economy rate of 8.26.

Kuldeep Yadav (DC): The Delhi Capitals spinner was among the highest wicket-takers in the previous season but he failed to emulate his performance this year. He played each of DC’s 14 league matches but could pick only 10 wickets at an average of 36.10 and an economy rate of 7.36.

Sandeep Sharma (RR): The Rajasthan Royals pacer’s no-ball and the following six on the final delivery of the match against SRH cost his team a berth in the playoffs. Overall, he played 12 matches and picked 10 wickets at an average of 39.60 and an economy rate of 8.60.

Wanindu Hasaranga (RCB): One of the big names in T20 cricut, Hasaranga could pick only nine wickets from eight matches at an average of 28.66 and an economy rate of 8.89.

Avesh Khan (LSG): Out of the Indian team, Avesh Khan did not do anything great in the IPL 2023 season to grab the attention of the selectors. In nine matches he played, the Lucknow Super Giants pacer picked eight wickets at an average of 35.36 and an economy rate of 9.75.

Rahul Chahar (PBKS): In a very disappointing season for Punjab Kings, the tweaker could pick only eight wickets in 14 matches at an average of 48.12 and an economy rate of 7.75.

Hrithik Shokeen (MI): On-field spat with Nitish Rana was the only time the young spinner made headlines during the IPL 2023. Eight matches for Mumbai Indians saw him pick three wickets at an average of 62.33 and an economy rate of 9.84.
