The venue, famously known as Hyderabad Cricket Stadium, has served as home venues to Hyderabad state teams, the Indian cricket team and since 2008, when Indian Premier League (IPL) started as a home to the Hyderabad-based franchises – Deccan Chargers and now Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad will host 7 of SRH’s home league stage matches. Sunrisers will play their first home match of 2023 against inaugural champions and last season’s runner up Rajasthan Royals in the opening weekend on Sunday (April 2).
