On the fifth ball of the 20th over, Dhoni slapped a slower short ball outside off for a six over backward point. On the final delivery, the left-arm bowled a full toss which Dhoni blasted over midwicket as the crowd at Chennai went berserk.

Dhoni’s second six also propelled CSK to their 27th 200-plus total in the IPL – most by any team in the history of the competition. RCB are second on the list. They have scored 200 or more runs 24 times.

Dhoni is understandably set to retire after the IPL 2023. He has dropped hints several times already this season.
“I will just say thanks for the support, they came in big numbers. Most of these guys will come in a KKR jersey next time. They are trying to give me a farewell, so thanks a lot to the crowd,” Dhoni had said after CSK’s match against KKR at the Eden Gardens on April 23.
The four-time champions would be aiming to win the trophy for their long-standing skipper to give him the perfect tribute. The side is currently placed fourth on the ten-team table. CSK have won five of their first eight matches.
A win against Punjab today (Sunday, April 23) will see CSK jump to the second spot.
