17 runs were needed off the final over when Sanju Samson threw the ball in the hands of pacer Sandeep Sharma. Right-hander Samad took a double on the first ball before slamming a six over deep on the following delivery. Debutant Joe Root made a wild jump but it went in vain.

A second double of the over ensued on the third delivery before the youngster took a single. Marco Jansen could also just manage a single on the penultimate delivery, leaving SRH and Samad in need of five runs from the final delivery.
He holed a full length delivery into the hands of Jos Buttler at long-off as Rajasthan players and fans erupted in celebration. But that was soon doomed by a no-ball signal from the on-field umpire. A visibly worried Sandeep again went to run up.

Meanwhile, Samad and Jansen discussed the plan, punched their gloves and went to their respective ends. Another attempted yorker, and Samad did not take any risk this time and played it straight over the bowler’s head for a six. A mad celebration by SRH followed.
WHAT. A. GAME ????????
Abdul Samad wins it for the @SunRisers as he hits a maximum off the final delivery. #SRH win by 4 wickets.

On the flip side, Sandeep, the entire Rajasthan camp and their fans were left shell shocked and devastated. However, as Kevin Pietersen said a few days ago – the IPL once again proved to be a gift which keeps giving.
Earlier, Glenn Phillips set up the final over finish with three back-to-back sixes on the first three balls of the 19th over. Notably, the equation before the start of the penultimate over was 41 off 12 balls. Phillips scored 25 runs off seven balls.
The 215-run chase by SRH is the highest-ever against Rajasthan Royals in the history of IPL.
