Pooran’s 62, Marcus Stoinis’ 30-ball 65 and unflinching attitude from the lower-order batters under tense situations, helped LSG eke out a win which will be remembered for a long time.

The game which saw 425 runs being scored in 40 overs, witnessed some raw emotions from the Super Giants’ camp after the match ended in their favour on the final delivery.

The entire LSG camp was pumped up after registering a win for the ages in front of a crowd which was cheering in favour of the home side. RCB fans pour out in big numbers at the iconic venue – which is a batter’s paradise.

Gautam Gambhir Roars After LSG Beat RCB

No sooner than Ravi Bishnoi took the winning single off Harshal Patel on the last delivery of the match and LSG emerged victorious, the entire LSG dugout broke into a raucous cheer.

Team’s mentor and former India cricketer Gautam Gambhir – who was sitting calmly in the dugout – too couldn’t control his emotion and roared in delight. Later, the cameras even showed Gambhir trying to silence the crowd during his emotional moment, by putting his finger on his lips.

Here’s the video:

It was Pooran who stole the show with this blistering knock and LSG added another chapter to its list of memorable encounters with RCB. Pooran – who is known for playing big knocks for West Indies – has never truly proven his worth until this season.

The aggressive left-handed batter from Trinidad & Tobago – who was acquired for a whopping Rs 16 crore by LSG at IPL 2023 Auction – is returning the favour by slamming a 15-ball fifty.

Pooran recorded the season’s fastest fifty and second-quickest 50 in the history of the tournament. His innings was studded with 4x fours and 7x sixes. He, thus, used his long handle to great effect and kept LSG in the hunt.

Pooran singlehandedly changed the complexion of the match with his big-hitting prowess and took LSG to within sniffing distance of a spectacular win.

Earlier, captain Faf Du Plessis, Virat Kohli and Glenn Maxwell smashed blistering half-centuries as RCB posted an imposing 212 for two after being sent into bat.

While Du Plessis made an unbeaten 79 off 46 balls, Kohli took the centre stage initially with his 44-ball 61-run knock, as the duo shared 96 runs for the opening wicket after being sent into bat.
