IPL 2023: Total Dot Ball In IPL Playoff 2023 – How Many Trees BCCI Is Going To Plant

As part of India’s green initiative, BCCI partnered with Tata Group to plant 500 trees across India for every dot bowled during the IPL 2023 Qualifier 1, Eliminator, Qualifier 2 and the IPL 2023 Final.

In Qualifier 1, when CSK beat GT at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, to seal their final spot, a total of 84 dot balls were bowled, resulting in 42,000 tree saplings being planted.

In the Eliminator, when Mumbai Indians beat Lucknow Super Giants at the same venue in Chennai, a total of 96 dot balls were bowled, meaning 48,000 trees were planted. In that match, MI’s Akash Madhwal, who claimed figures of 5 for 5 in 3.2 overs, bowled 17 dots.

In Qualifier 2 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, where GT beat MI to seal their final spot, a total of 67 dot balls were bowled, meaning 26,5000 trees were being planted.

In the final at the same venue in Ahmedabad, when CSK beat GT to clinch their fifth IPL title, a total of 45 dot balls were bowled, meaning 22,500 trees were being planted.

So, in total there were a total of 294 dot balls were bowled during the IPL 2023 playoffs – Qualifier 1, Eliminator, Qualifier 2 and Finals – meaning a total of 1,47,000 trees will be planted as part of the BCCI and Tata Group’s India Green initiative.

The likes of Madhwal, Mohammed Shami, Rashid Khan, Matheesha Pathirana were some of the key contributors to this initiative via their dot balls in the playoff stages that saw over a lakh trees being planted across India.
