Manchester United are back in Premier League action this weekend for the first league game since their historic defeat against Liverpool, with Southampton the visitors to Old Trafford.

Last Sunday’s Anfield debacle has cast somewhat of a shadow over their recent good work under Erik ten Hag, but United do still remain in a strong position to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

As for Southampton, their survival bid was boosted last weekend with a 1-0 victory over Leicester, but they remain very much in the relegation mire under manager Ruben Selles.

And so with fans eager to see how both club’s fare on Sunday, will Manchester United vs Southampton be shown on TV in the UK?

Here is everything you need to know.

What time does it kick-off?

The match will kick-off on Sunday, March 12 at 2pm.

Is Manchester United vs Southampton on TV?

Unfortunately for fans of both clubs, Manchester United vs Southampton will not be shown live on TV anywhere in the UK.

The fixture was not selected by Sky Sports or BT Sport for TV coverage and so it was originally scheduled to take place on Saturday at 3pm.

However, with United having played in the Europa League against Real Betis on Thursday night, the game was put back by almost 24 hours to give the squad extra recovery time.

West Ham are also in the same boat, with their encounter with Aston Villa moved back by almost 24 hours to accommodate their Europa Conference League game in Cyprus on Thursday.

Match of the Day 2 will show highlights of all of Sunday’s Premier League fixtures at 10.30pm on BBC One.

Will the game be on radio?

BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra will have live commentary of the game from 1.55pm.

What happened in the reverse fixture?

Manchester United won the first game between the two sides back in August.

Bruno Fernandes’ second-half volley was enough for United to come away from the long trip to the south coast with the three points.

United’s win at St Mary’s was their second successive win following the now infamous 4-0 defeat to Brentford, with the 2-1 win over Liverpool sandwiched between the two games.
