I’ll try not to be “that guy,” but… How do you not know the answer to this one? No offense, but seriously? Even writers have their limits, and like Spider-Man stopping a runaway train, you’re really pulling me apart here.

Spider-Man is arguably the most popular comic book character of all time, and including his recent exploits on the silver screen, you can’t go five feet nowadays without some sort of Spidey-centric propaganda. So let me ask you a rhetorical question to the one posed in my headline; Who do you think created Spider-Man? DC or Marvel?

If this was even a decade ago, when getting into comic books, sci-fi, or anything out of the ordinary was still a bit fringe — not being able to give an answer wouldn’t be a big deal. Plenty of folks had no clue, and why would they? After all, comic books were for nerds. Now though, you can’t find a person on the planet who doesn’t love these tales to astonish.

Gone are the days of ridicule, because today, we all get along. Heck, even the quarterback and prom queen can chop it up with the biggest comic book fans (people have depth), and that’s pretty rad. It warms my cold, geeky heart.

The truth is, I adore Spider-Man like the 25-year-old man-child that I am, and with the recent popularity of blockbusters like Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse — it’s clear that everyone’s friendly neighborhood hero is as iconic as ever, so figuring out which company Spider-Man belongs to shouldn’t be that difficult.

If you really didn’t know, you can thank the minds at Marvel for bringing the Web Head to life. First introduced in 1962 by Stan Lee, Spider-Man quickly became one of the franchise’s biggest titles, and the rest (as they say) is history. But don’t feel bad if you actually couldn’t figure this one out, when it comes to loving a good superhero story, there’s room for all.
