If you don’t already know Isamaya Ffrench, you’ll doubtless know her work. She’s the makeup artist and creative force behind some of the most iconic beauty looks of recent times, and her alternative, experimental aesthetic has helped to set her apart. Rihanna’s razor thin brows on the front of British Vogue? That was Isamaya. Those fairycore elf ears on the runway at Burberry? Also, Isamaya, where she side-hustles as the brand’s global beauty director. Byredo’s punky debut makeup campaign? Yep, Isamaya Ffrench. She’s worked with everyone from Rosalia and Cher, to Travis Scott and the Hadid sisters, and soon, she’s expanding her makeup authority even further, with the launch of her own eponymous range, ISAMAYA Beauty.

Launching at the end of June, Isamaya’s collection will be an extension of her established artistic direction, combining the glamour and prettiness of makeup, with the grunge, industrial edge that often inspires her work. “I like to transform and explore boundaries,” she admits to GLAMOUR. “And the collection is a reflection of this. The textures and shades can be very wearable, but they’re also unexpected.”
There’s a deep off-black lip gloss that adds a subtle gothic tint to lips. There’s an eyeshadow palette with wearable gold shimmer and netural hues, offset with deep navy and vibrant red pigments. As for the formulas, they’re exactly as professional and next-level, as you’d expect from such an esteemed artist. The hyaluronic acid melts into skin and sits perfectly in between makeup and skincare, leaving the skin glowing, but not shimmering. And the mascara features an innovatively-shaped wand to carefully curl each and every lash, while the blue-coated black pigment maximises the drama.
