The Malaga-born player has signed a one-year contract with Los Verdiblancos and adds to the growing list of new stars at the Benito Villamarín alongside the likes of Marc Bartra, Héctor Bellerín and Marc Roca.
Isco has spent his entire career at the Spanish top flight, having started his career with Valencia. He then played for Malaga, and then spent nine seasons at Real Madrid before joining Sevilla last season on a free transfer.
With midfield maestro Sergio Canales and club icon Joaquin having left the club this summer, and the long-term absence of Nabil Fekir due to injury, Isco will bring some much-needed technique and talent to Manuel Pellegrini’s midfield.
Isco took his first steps in Valencia CF’s youth academy, joining the club at the age of 14 and making his debut in 2009. In 2011 he returned to his homeland with Málaga CF, where he coincided with his new coach Pellegrini for two seasons, before completing his move to Real Madrid in 2013.
In the nine seasons he played for Los Blancos, he made 353 appearances and won 19 titles, including five Champions Leagues, and became an important part of the Spanish national team under Julen Lopetegui. He has made 38 appearances and scored 12 goals for Spain, in addition to playing in the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
