ISL vs PES injury update, key players
Islamabad United injury update, key players in PSL 2023
Islamabad United will probably play the game without their in-form batter Azam Khan, who hurt his left-index finger while keeping. Apart from him, there’s no update on pacer Zeeshan Zameer’s return from an injury sustained a week ago.
Azam’s absence may hurt the capital side’s chances in the play-off as he scored 236 runs in eight innings, including two half-centuries.
His injury also had a spiral effect on the team’s batting unit as Islamabad United were also 107 all out against Lahore Qalandars last Thursday (March 9) while chasing 227.
Batting hopes pinned on Colin Munro
With the team’s second-highest run-getter uncertain, the brunt falls on New Zealand top-order batter Colin Munro, who has scored 279 runs in eight innings.
There will be hopes on top of the order of Alex Hales too given his firepower. However, the English opener has failed to click in his last four innings. The same is true of Rahmanullah Gurbaz, who continues to waste good starts.
Skipper Shadab Khan could only scored 12 runs in the last innings but announced his return to form with a knock of 44 in the game prior.
Faheem Ashraf has been more reliable with runs as he pulled strings of good knocks at No. 6 before scoring just four runs in the last batting collapse.
Among bowlers, Fazalhaq Farooqi has been a good wicket-taking form with nine wickets in four games, including three wickets in the last game.
Senior pacer Hasan Ali, at the same time, hasn’t been consistent but will be a vital part of the member in the closing stages of the tournament.
Peshawar Zalmi injury update, team news, key players
Peshawar Zalmi have no injury concerns in the game and comes to the game low on confidence after their bowlers failed to defend 240-plus target in back-to-back two games.
Likes of Wahab Riaz, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Azmatullah Omarzai, and Arshad Iqbal, who have done well recently, have fetched too many runs as the bowling unit suddenly appear ineffective.
Their batting still has their openers firing runs in skipper Babar Azam and Saim Ayyub combined to score 413 runs together in their last three opening stands.
Azam has scored 73, 115 and 50 while Ayub has been the aggressor during the period with knocks of 58, 74 and 68.
Mohammad Haris, who has been off form recently, also found a rhythm with a came of 35 runs off just 11 balls.
Tom Kohler Cadmore and Rovman Powell are in good form as well but the former scored just 2 in his last innings.
Down the order, Haseebullah Khan and Omarzai provides further depth in batting

Rawalpindi’s Pindi Stadium pitch remains a batting paradise with 200-plus being scored at regular basis. However, Rashid Khan showed few nights ago in Lahore Qalandars’ win over Islamabad United that there is value for spinners on the wicket and skippers may prefer having a wrist spinner in their team for the game.
