Israel Adesanya facing charge of criminal possession of a weapon

The now-former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya, days after his title loss, was arrested on Nov. 16 at John F. Kennedy airport in Queens, New York.

Per a report from TMZ, Adesanya faces a charge of criminal possession of a weapon after going through security with metal knuckles.

Brass knuckles are illegal in New York — whether they are carried on your person or in a bag.

The arrest was made at around 2 p.m. ET near the airport’s TSA screening area for American Airlines.

Adesanya recently competed in the main event of UFC 281 at Madison Square Garden on Nov. 12, where he was knocked out by challenger Alex Pereira in the final round of his middleweight title fight.
