It’s a Wonderful Life is a 1946 American Christmas film which tells the story of George Bailey, played by James Stewart, who is feeling frustrated with life and how an angel sent from heaven shows him what life would be like if he had never existed. Though many of the main cast members, such as James Stewart and Donna Reeves, have passed away since the movie was made, some of the younger members are still alive today.

On Christmas Eve 1945, Bailey contemplates suicide. During this time, his friends and family have been thinking and praying for him to get through the hard times.
Their thoughts and prayers reach angel Clarence Odbody, who is assigned to save George in order to earn his wings.
When George wishes he had never been born, Clarence shows him a timeline in which George never existed.
Convinced that Clarence is his guardian angel, George begs for his life back. The original reality is restored, and a grateful George returns home.
George receives a copy of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer as a gift from Clarence.
There is a note within it reminding George that no man is a failure who has friends and thanking him for his wings.
When a bell on the Christmas tree rings, George’s youngest daughter, Zuzu, explains that it means that an angel has earned his wings.
