Ivanka Trump left people on social media both mystified and amused by her decision to crop her brother’s fiancée Kimberly Guilfoyle out of a photo that she shared on social media of her and other women from the Trump family at Tiffany Trump’s wedding Saturday.
Ivanka Trump served as her half-sister’s matron of honor for her marriage to billionaire Michael Boulos at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort. At one point, she posed for a photo with Tiffany, in a sparkling white Elie Saab gown, and other female relatives — Lara Trump, Melania Trump, Tiffany’s mother Marla Maples and Kimberly Guilfoyle. All the women, except for Guilfoyle, were dressed in pastels or soft shades of white and mauve. Guilfoyle, on the far left end, was the outlier in a black dress, with excessively large puffy sleeves.
In a version of the photo that Ivanka Trump shared on Twitter and Instagram, Guilfoyle was edited out, and people were left to wonder why.
One of the funniest things I have seen in a long time… @IvankaTrump cropped @kimguilfoyle out of her Instagram post from Tiffany Trump’s wedding.

For her part, the former White House senior adviser appeared to channel Grace Kelly from Alfred Hitchcock’s 1955 film “To Catch a Thief.” Like Kelly, Ivanka Trump wore a one-shouldered sky blue gown with layers of chiffon. Some thought that Ivanka didn’t quite carry the look off:
I take no pleasure in reporting that Ivanka is wearing a (terrible) knockoff of Grace Kelly’s iconic blue dress from TO CATCH A THIEF

As for Guilfoyle’s little black dress, did it not fit into Ivanka Trump’s idea of the appropriate color scheme for her little sister’s wedding? Was the matron of honor also sending a message that she doesn’t approve of women wearing black — a color associated with funerals — to weddings?
Wishing @TiffanyATrump and Michael an abundance of happiness and joy as they begin their lives together as husband and wife!
May their love be a source of light in this world! ???????????? pic.twitter.com/3fIjnPQnQC

Some people joked that Guilfoyle was channeling Maleficent or other fictional villainesses in her choice of gown, or that she wore black as a sign of mourning for Republicans’ losses in the midterm elections.
Everyone else looks dressed for a wedding, but to Kimberly Guilfoyle’s credit she dressed for the funeral of the Republican Party. Well played. pic.twitter.com/X3R6CiFI5Q

One thing that perhaps Ivanka Trump and these jokesters should realize is that it has become acceptable for women to wear black at weddings. That’s according to wedding etiquette expert Elaine Swann, in an interview with Brides magazine last year. In fact, some brides themselves wear black, because it’s considered to be chic and elegant. Guests should just “avoid wearing anything that’s too low cut, too short, or too tight,” Swann told Brides.
Perhaps Ivanka Trump was sending another message by cropping Guilfoyle out of her photo. It could be that she’s just not crazy about Trump Jr.’s future wife, as some suggested.
Granted, I wouldn’t want Kim “THE BEST IS YET TO COME!!!!!!!!!!” Guilfoyle in any of my photos either ???? https://t.co/SLBDvNYJu8

Ivanka Trump also could have been passive-aggressively letting the world know that the former Fox News host still isn’t a true member of the Trump family. That’s a theory floated by Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, the ex-best friend of Melania Trump.

Then again, Ivanka Trump was photographed later Saturday evening with Guilfoyle, looking friendly at the reception, an image that inspired some other jokes.
During Tiffany’s wedding, after finding out that Democrats would still control the Senate, Ivanka used the Bat signal, as a last resort. But sadly, Kimberly Guilfoyle showed up pic.twitter.com/LfzAx6hmQK

People also wondered why Ivanka Trump didn’t have a problem with sister-in-law Lara Trump’s gown, and its never-ending sleeves:
Kimberly Guilfoyle thought she was at a tacky funeral.

Actual family member or not, Guilfoyle has emerged as one of the more divisive members of Trump’s inner circle. The ex-wife of California Gov. Gavin Newsom and former first lady of San Francisco has transformed into one of the most vehement supporters of Trumpian politics.

Guilfoyle regularly joined Trump Jr. to stump for the former president in the 2020 presidential election or for candidates he supported. She also helped the former president foment his election denialism, including at the rally that preceded the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.
Ivanka Trump has always been more discreet about her politics in an effort to come across as palatable as possible to more mainstream audiences. It’s also been reported by CNN that she has no intention of leaving her comfortable new life in Miami with her husband, Jared Kushner and their three children to join a possible Trump 2024 campaign. She also wouldn’t return to work for her father in the White House if he won a second term.
“(Ivanka) would never go back to that life,” one person close to Ivanka Trump and the Trump family told CNN White House correspondent Kate Bennett. “She knows it’s not something that would serve her or her family at this point.”
Another person told Bennett that Ivanka Trump has been “done” with Washington “since the day she left” in January 2021 and that “hasn’t changed.”
Guilfoyle, on the other hand, is champing at the bit to help Trump return to power, according to CNN. Guilfoyle may get her wish Tuesday, with Trump likely to announce that he will seek re-election, his longtime adviser Jason Miller said on Steve Bannon’s “War Room” podcast Friday, Insider reported.
