Now that the NBA has issued its punishment to Ja Morant over his off-the-field behavior with a 25-game suspension, you might think that his saga is over for the time being, right? Maybe not…
According to ESPN’s Tim MacMahon, there are people at Morant’s side – who MacMahon speculates may no longer be at his side – who believe that the NBA is “out to get them” and that the media is too.
“I have heard indirectly that Ja and people close to Ja, perhaps people formerly close to Ja, have this feeling that the NBA out to get them. That the media is out to get them,” MacMahon said, via NBACentral on Twitter.
Ja Morant’s camp reportedly feels like the NBA and the media are out to get them

In fairness, the NBA would certainly want Ja Morant to end association with anyone who they deem are detrimental to him and by extension the league’s image. But this hasn’t exactly been a witch hunt.
For starters, the overwhelming majority of people who follow the NBA and in the media probably can’t even name a single person that spends time with him, or even the names of any of the people who were in the car with him for that now-infamous Instagram Live video where Morant flashed a gun.
If Ja Morant’s camp are so afraid of the NBA and the media, the best way to avoid their crosshairs is to stop doing wild stuff and posting it on social media.
Or at the very least, they should stop doing those things with Morant.
