The Manchester City winger last week has signed a record-breaking deal with the sports giant Puma- the most lucrative boot contract ever for a British footballer.
Grealish who was associated with American sports giant Nike since his teenage days opted for rival Puma in the recent switch that will hand him a massive £10 million a season.
As of now, this is Premier League’s highest boot contract deal for a British footballer. But where does he sit compared to other top football stars like Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappe, or Neymar? Here we have taken a look-
Neymar (PSG) – Puma, £23million-a-year
Neymar holds the top position in terms of the contract of a boot brand. Puma, which also has roped in Jack Grealish, connected Neymar also with them since 2020. The PSG attacker currently holds the largest-ever individual sponsorship contract in sports history with a £23 million-a-year deal.
Lionel Messi (PSG) – Adidas, £18million-a-year
Adidas has a lifetime deal agreed with the Argentine star. He has been associated with the Brand since 2006 when he just started his initial career with Barcelona. He currently earns a mammoth £18million-a-year and he even has his own sub-brand of boots with them named- Adidas Messi.
Cristiano Ronaldo (Al Nassr) – Nike, £15million-a-year
The Portuguese icon tied with the American company in 2003 since his teenage days and the association has not changed. He reportedly has the third most handsome boot contract deal. In 2016 he signed a lifetime contract with the Sporting giants which was apparently worth around £1bn at that time.
Kylian Mbappe (PSG) – Nike, £14million-a-year
The new potential successor of Messi and Ronaldo, Mbappe is also not far behind in terms of a lucrative boot deal. The World Cup winner signed a big contract with Nike in 2018. They both agreed on a 10-year partnership which will see him earn a massive £140m over the course of time.
