Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley show respect after rematch

Jake Paul has accused Tyron Woodley of resorting to dirty tactics in a bid to avenge his defeat last weekend.

The YouTube star picked up his fifth professional win as he brutally knocked out Woodley in the sixth round to put an end to their rivalry.

Woodley caught Paul with a trailing elbow in the third round that opened up a nasty cut on his forehead, with the bleeding causing problems for Paul’s vision during the fight.

Paul said Woodley was using his accomplished wrestling background to push him around like a “bull” in the clinch.

The pair were on good terms after the fight despite Paul’s claims, shaking hands at the post-fight press conference and addressing the media in each other’s presence.

And Paul was impressed by his own ability to withstand the former UFC champion’s best punches.

“Tyron’s tough, he’s a really tough guy, he caught me with an elbow, I’m bleeding in my eye, but I still got the job done,” he said.

“His toughness is mental, he just keeps coming forward even after I hit him with good shots, jabs, body shots.

“We’re in the clinch and you can feel that national champion wrestler in the clinch, boom he pushes you around like a bull and his punching power is real – he won the UFC title with that.

“So taking those punches, I’ve got a good chin because I’m eating them, damn that’s good!”

Paul was originally scheduled to fight to Love Island star Tommy Fury at the event in Tampa, but the Brit pulled out two weeks prior with a rib injury and chest infection.

He said Fury was “lucky” to have not fought him on the night and refused to commit to a re-scheduled bout with the undefeated boxer after his KO over Woodley.

Oddsmakers have Paul set to fight another former UFC champion next in Anderson Silva, who was linked to a fight with his brother Logan Paul earlier this year.

And the 24-year-old – who has now stopped all of his professional opponents – marked his win over Woodley as the “greatest moment” of his life.

“It was a tough fight. The blood was getting in my eye from when he elbowed me. He threw me on the ground, fought dirty, headbutted, but it is what it is,” he continued.

“I knew what I was doing, I was setting up the shot the whole fight and he didn’t see it coming.

“He was catching, catching, catching came around and ‘good morning’! It’s got to be the greatest moment of my life, look at what I just did.”
