Eddie Hearn talks co-promoting with Jake Paul

Jake Paul has admitted he would fight Mike Tyson – but has not held talks with the heavyweight legend.

Paul had reportedly agreed terms over a $50million Las Vegas showdown which would see the YouTube star take on the former undisputed world champion.

But Tyson denied he had any interest in fighting the younger Paul brother, just months after it was suggested he would fight Jake’s brother Logan.

And Paul has now confirmed no negotiations have taken place.

“It’s not real. I would fight him, though, but there were never any discussions about that,” he told The MMA Hour. “He said it himself, I saw him in St Barts on New Year’s and it was very cordial. We took a picture together… he’s a friend.

“If we were to fight, it would be weird. I don’t know if I’d want that but there have been no discussions.”

Tyson returned to the ring in 2020 when he took on fellow legend Roy Jones Jr in an exhibition bout.

Paul knocked out former NBA star Nate Robinson on the undercard in what was his second professional fight.

The YouTuber went on to beat Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley last year before arranging a fight with British star Tommy Fury.

But the brother of heavyweight ruler Tyson was forced to pull out of the fight at two weeks’ notice with a chest infection.

He was replaced by Woodley who was given a second chance against Paul only to be spectacularly knocked out in the sixth round.

Paul, who is currently engulfed in a row with UFC president Dana White, plans to return to the ring later this year, after he promotes Katie Taylor’s clash with Amanda Serrano.

And Tyson claims he will not be mounting another comeback.

“I’m not even interested in doing this stuff,” he said.

“It was just fun at first. If it was back when I first started, yes, and we were both fighting on the same card and both active, yeah, we could do it. But, it just turned … it just turned bad. It didn’t turn out right.

“I wanted to do it the first time just for fun to have fun and then some people took it to another level and made it financial, and then the fun went out of it.”
