Jake Paul has challenged Conor McGregor to join him in the ring after the UFC superstar said Nate Diaz will ‘slap his head off’.
Paul, the social media sensation turned boxer, made the call out after footage emerged of McGregor writing off his chances against Diaz.
American Paul takes on MMA great Diaz in a boxing fight on August 5 after losing his perfect record by a split decision to Tommy Fury last time out.
It won’t be the first time Paul has taken on a MMA star in the boxing ring, having previously beaten the legendary Anderson Silva in 2022 by a unanimous decision.
And next on his list after Diaz appears to be McGregor.
The Irishman was interviewed by InsideFighting while attending Gervonta Davis’ win over Ryan Garcia, and was asked where he sees Paul v Diaz going.
“I think Nate Diaz slaps the head off of him and I look forward to seeing it,” he said.
When asked if he’ll be present in Dallas for the August fight, he responded: “I’ll probably be in the Lamborghini just off the coast of Sicily.”
McGregor was also asked about his chances of completing a trilogy fight against Diaz, and indicated that it was possible with a smile, OK symbol and three fingers.
With the video quickly going viral, it was only a matter of time before Jake Paul responded, and he did so in his usual fashion to his 4.5million followers.
“I’m a better boxer than you Conor and will do what you couldn’t and knock Nate out,” he wrote.
“After Nate let’s box as the co main event same night as Katie Taylor VS. Amanda Serrano in Dublin.
“But since you’re not your own boss you will hide behind Dana [White] or just drink the rest of your life away. August 5th you will see.”
