Jake Paul denies Francis Ngannou’s purse for Tyson Fury fight is $8m and reveals true figure

Jake Paul has taken to social media to correct rumours about Francis Ngannou’s purse for his upcoming fight with Tyson Fury.

The American YouTuber-turned-boxer has something in common with the former UFC heavyweight champion as they’ve both signed big financial deals with rival MMA promotion PFL’s ‘Super Fight’ division in the past year.

Fury vs Ngannou is set for October 28

They have also both signed big financial deals for fights in Saudi Arabia in 2023.

In February, Paul was beaten by Tommy Fury in Diriyah, but stated that he made $30million from the bout.

Now, Ngannou has signed to face Tyson Fury on October 28 in Riyadh and will be receiving a similarly huge figure.

However, in recent days a rumour has emerged suggesting that the Cameroonian-French heavyweight is set to make $8million.

In truth it was merely confirmed that Ngannou is going to earn more for the Fury fight than the offer he rejected from the UFC earlier this year, which was $8million.

This has since been misrepresented by some outlets who vaguely just reported that he will earn “more than $8million”.

However, it’s obvious from the previous precedent set by Saudi site fees that Ngannou will actually be making far more than this.

Paul took to social media to explain exactly that as he tweeted: “Francis got eight figures. Not $8million. Get it right.”

He then added: “To all the Twitter geniuses: eight figures = $10,000,000+ and Francis deserves every bit of it.”

The exact amounts both Fury and Ngannou will earn remain confidential.

It should be noted though that previous Saudi site fees have hit staggering numbers, as Fury and Anthony Joshua were supposed to earn $75million each for their planned fight in 2021 which ultimately had to be scrapped.
