Jake Paul has been hailed as the “biggest up-and-coming star in boxing” after he brutally knocked out Tyron Woodley last month.
His coach BJ Flores, who himself challenged for the cruiserweight world title against Tony Bellew, has said that the best is still yet to come from the YouTuber, who is now 5-0 with four knockouts.
Flores has trained Paul since he decided to turn professional in 2020, moving up to head coach after Shane Mosely opted not to stick with the team after his debut against AnEsonGib.
And he has backed Paul to show even more in 2022 after an explosive year in which he knocked out Woodley after a split decision win in their first fight, which had followed a first round stoppage of MMA legend Ben Askren.
“Jake is a superstar,” Flores told BoxingScene. “He has exciting one punch power, speed and has an incredible work ethic.

“He has that X factor and he is can’t miss entertainment.
“Remember, he is only 5-0 – Jake is without question the biggest up and coming star in boxing. He has massive potential.
“The sky is the limit. We have an excellent team in place. There is much more to come in 2022.”
Paul will initially take a break from the ring for the start of the year, as he holidays in St Barth’s with his girlfriend Julia Rose before returning to co-promote a fight between Katie Taylor and his client Amanda Serrano.
The unbeaten boxer will join back up with Eddie Hearn, who handed him his professional debut in January 2020, to promote the undisputed lightweight title fight that will be the biggest in women’s boxing history.
He will then look to return in July, according to Mirror Fighting sources, with Tommy Fury and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr both considered as possible opponents.
The one critique of Paul’s young career to this point has been that he hasn’t fought a boxer, instead opting to face ex-UFC fighters, a basketball player and fellow YouTube stars.
Only AnEsonGib, who he fought in his debut, had boxed before at any level; winning two white collar boxing matches against beginners in 2018.

He had looked to change that record when he signed to fight Love Island star Fury, who holds an unbeaten 7-0 professional record, and has an amateur background as well as a family that includes his brother; world heavyweight champion Tyson.
But the younger Fury pulled out of their scheduled eight-round bout that was set for Florida last month when he picked up a broken rib while attempting to train through a chest infection.
And the pair could reignite their rivalry this year, assuming Paul is willing to risk booking and promoting another fight against the Brit.
Chavez Jr is a much more legitimate boxer than Fury having won and defended the middleweight title multiple times during the prime of his career.
But he has struggled with form of late, infamously losing to 46-year-old UFC legend Anderson Silva in a boxing match back in June, meaning Paul would be confident he could get a massive win over the long past-peak Mexican.
