Internet sensation Jake Paul has been seen dancing with UFC legend Anderson Silva just days before their fight on Saturday. The pair were seen dancing in front of a green screen in their boxing attire, with confused fans not sure what to think.
Paul is looking to continue his unbeaten start to his boxing career with a high-profile fight against Silva on Saturday.
Silva is the latest UFC star to step into the ring and face Paul, with the internet star already knocking out both Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley. But whereas there was an element of hatred in the build-up to the other bouts, Paul appears to be taking the more friendly approach this time around.
Silva and Paul were seen dancing around joking for a bizarre promotion ahead of Saturday. But despite their friendly bond, Paul is still looking to produce ‘knockout of the year’ on Silva.
It’s clear to see that Paul has a lot of admiration for Silva, with the boxer already admitting he idolised the Brazilian when watching as a youngster. But they’ve still tried to a sell a tough fight, which is why fans are surprised to see footage of them dancing.
Paul is still looking to deliver in the ring though, despite what’s been going on in the build-up. Footage of Paul was released from his training camp as part of Showtime’s All Access series, and he can be seen repetitively watching Silva’s clash with former world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
“Knockout of the year incoming,” Paul can be heard saying in part of the footage. “Yeah I’ve seen this a bunch of times and every time I see it I just find more openings.
“He loves to get in that corner and dance – I’m not going to play that s***, it’s my ring, it’s my fight, I’m the A-Side for a reason. He’s not going to come in there and do that s***, I’m not going to feed into it.”
However, Paul has already let him dance away, and he’s joined him in doing so. Regardless of the mood though, or Paul’s confidence, this will no doubt be the toughest test of his career.
Silva is taller and longer than Paul, and the Brazilian is the first southpaw that the internet star will have faced in his career. Paul’s opponents have improved gradually, but even this is a big step.
