Jake Paul has called for KSI’s latest win to be overturned after watching slow-motion footage of the strike that knocked out Joe Fournier.
‘JJ’ picked up another win on Saturday night as he stopped a 9-0 professional boxer who previously went eight rounds with former two-weight world champion David Haye in an exhibition.
The YouTuber-turned-boxer caught Fournier with a massive overhand right in round two before following it up with what appeared to be a picture-perfect hook to end the fight.
However, it soon became clear that it was an accidental elbow that knocked out the 40-year-old, but KSI refused to accept what had happened during his post-fight interview.
“Na, bro. I hit him with a massive shot, and he was dazed, he was scrambling, trying to hang onto me for dear life,” he said.
“I was like, ‘Brother, no, no, no, no. It’s D-Day. Your soul is mine!”
Soon after, Paul took to social media to react to the fight-ending sequence and claim it should have resulted in his rival being disqualified or the match-up being called a no-contest.
“I respect boxing too much to respect what that was. If that was indeed a real boxing match it will be ruled a no contest or disqualification,” the 6-1 professional boxer tweeted.
‘The Problem Child’ is yet to react to his name being brought up during KSI’s post-fight confrontation with Tommy Fury.
Tyson Fury’s brother is fresh off a split decision win over Paul, who opted to face UFC legend Nate Diaz next instead of triggering the rematch clause in his contract.
KSI vowed to do what Paul couldn’t and KO Fury, but the Love Island star insisted he will derail another influencer boxer’s hype train when they clash later this year.
Ultimately, the two men had to be separated by security when their heated face-off became physical and Fury almost got into his second brawl of the night.
The 24-year-old traded blows with Idris Virgo an hour earlier in a ringside confrontation that quickly went viral on social media.
Fury has since downplayed his scuffle with Virgo and seems fully focused on securing a fight with KSI.
