Jake Paul recites foul-mouthed poem to absent Tommy Fury ahead of grudge fight

The YouTube star was left without a face-off after Fury missed today’s press conference due to a “family emergency”, but did read him a foul-mouthed poem from the stage

Jake Paul mocked Tommy Fury with a vicious poem as the Brit missed their first press conference.

Fury’s new coach SugarHill Steward was there to represent him, as he returned to the UK to deal with a family emergency, and the trainer took questions before Paul made his way to the stage.

And Paul stole the show with an outrageous and foul-mouthed poetry recital, promising to knock out his Love Island star rival.

He drew on old memories from the boxer’s reality TV days, including a kiss he shared during a challenge with Curtis Pritchard, among other things in the bizarre reading.

“Roses are red, violets are blue, in his first obligation, Mr Fury couldn’t come through,” Paul read from his phone.

“No worries, only stress for a few, I’m used to promoting my fights alone I just didn’t think I’d have to do this one too.

“Carrying the marketing sales, oh lord what’s new? And y’all wonder why the top sellers are me and Canelo, top two.”

Paul also commented on Fury’s looks, with the unbeaten fighter known as much for being a heart-throb with TV fans as his boxing ability.

And the YouTuber also made reference to a recent incident where the home of Fury and his girlfriend Molly-Mae Hague was burglarised.

An estimated £800,000 worth of damage was recorded during the burglary.

“One girl whispers, there goes Tommy Fury with his pretty green eyes,” he continued. “Her friend replies ‘yes it’s true but he prefers to kiss guys’.

“Tommy Fury’s friends let him skip leg day, just look at those chicken thighs. December 18 his home won’t be the only thing that gets burglarised.”

The poem continued to mock his family’s “boxing legacy”, and said that he’ll need his girlfriend to keep him relevant should he lose the bout.

And he also mocked Fury for his flying with budget American airline Spirit, with whom he travelled to attend his brother Tyson’s world heavyweight title fight last month.

“After all this though, I will say Tommy still has a lot of spirit,” Paul concluded. “A lot of Spirit Airline miles.

“Tommy is still saving up to be able to sit in the aisles.

“Roses are red, violets are blue, December 18, Tommy Fury will be on the canvas, kissing my shoe.”

Paul claimed that Fury missed the media event due to an issue with his mother Chantal, but no official reason has been confirmed.

Fury will headline his first pay-per-view event in Florida next month against YouTube star Paul, with the pair having gone back-and-forth on social media over the last year.

They fought on the same card in August, when Fury beat Paul’s sparring partner Anthony Taylor by unanimous decision, while Paul defeated former UFC champion Tyron Woodley by split decision.
