Jake Paul makes quick knockout prediction for potential Tommy Fury fight

Jake Paul is confident a fight with Mike Tyson would come close to breaking a pay-per-view record.

Former undisputed heavyweight champion Tyson said he would only fight Paul if their bout would break the record for the highest-selling pay-per-view of all time. The record is currently held by Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao, which sold 4.6 million buys in 2015.

Paul said he would move up to heavyweight to fight Tyson in a bout that he thinks is worth over $300million. ‘The Problem Child’ thinks mixing two generations of boxing is a great idea and is confident he would be able to beat ‘Iron Mike’.

“Ideally, for sure, that’s legendary,” he told Boxing Social of the potential fight. “The old generation of boxing with the new generation of boxing, all being mixed into one. As Mike Tyson said on the Joe Rogan podcast, it would be one of the biggest pay-per-views of all time.

“Together when we were on the same card, we sold almost two million pay-per-views. It could be three million pay-per-views, four million pay-per-views. Mike Tyson like you said on the podcast, if you’re watching this, let’s make the fight happen. I’m ready and I think I would win, Mike thinks he would win, so let’s do it.”

Tyson’s comeback fight against Roy Jones Jr in 2020, of which Paul fought on the undercard, sold 1.6million pay-per-views. Paul has headlined three events since then with his fight against Ben Askren being the biggest selling, reportedly doing over 1million buys.

‘Iron Mike’ wasn’t included on Paul’s six-man hitlist he recently laid out. Tommy Fury, who was scheduled to fight Paul last December, was included and Paul wasn’t impressed by the Brit’s one-sided decision win on the undercard of his brother Tyson’s world title fight last weekend.

“It wasn’t much of a performance, he fought a guy that couldn’t fight,” Paul said of Fury’s win. “The guy looked like an idiot in there. He couldn’t punch, couldn’t move, could barely walk around the ring. I don’t think the guy landed a punch to Tommy Fury’s face, pretty embarrassing for both of them.

“It just looked like two people who didn’t know how to dance, got put in front of Wembley Stadium. Tommy Fury is an easy fight for me. I was hoping he was going to get a knockout to build the hype but that didn’t hype.”
