Jake Paul is planning to weigh in lighter than his first fight with Tyron Woodley when the pair tip the scales this week.
YouTube star Paul weighed the 190lb limit for their last bout, and will be allowed a further two pounds for this weekend’s rematch.
But he won’t touch that limit, according to his head trainer BJ Flores, who says he has been keeping his weight down during camp.
Speaking on The Wade Concept YouTube channel, Flores told of how he expects his fighter to weigh in at a career-light weight for this Saturday’s pay-per-view main event.
“Jake’s got a big chip on his shoulder from the last Tyron fight,” Flores explained. “He really does.
“He’s been working very hard and instead of going out and celebrating the money or whatever else he made on the last fight, he got right back in the gym.
“He started working hard, we’ve switched a couple of things up, he’ll come in lighter for this fight, he’ll be quicker, more aggressive.

“His output is going to be faster paced and we can still box and move the whole fight but it’s going to be a much different version of Jake Paul.
“So I’m really excited about it and Jake just can’t wait to get in there, doesn’t matter against who.”
Paul and former cruiserweight world title challenger Flores have been working together since he turned professional in January of last year.
Flores was brought in as a sparring partner when he was preparing to face AnEsonGib in his debut, but quickly realised that he worked better as a coach.
And when Shane Mosley opted not to stick with Paul as his career progressed after the pandemic, Flores moved up to head coach, with fellow ex-fighter J’Leon Love as assistant.
The pair have yet to lose as a trainer-fighter team, and have brought in new members to help with preparation at their Puerto Rican training base for the Woodley rematch.
“I got here September, I’d been here three months and we got to Tampa on Sunday,” Flores explained.
“And he was already in shape when he got to camp, he wasn’t out of shape.
“So we just really focused this camp on increasing his strength and conditioning, his stamina, his power, his speed, his explosion.

“We brought in a new strength and conditioning coach and we’re rolling, this is great.
“We’re still working with the other coach as well and he still helps out but we’ve got a new guy that’s increasing our level of fitness and our strength and power even more.
“We’ve got a dietician for Jake as well to make sure his eating is perfect and make sure there’s nothing extra in his diet that will take away from his performance.
“We really dialled that in this camp, got his blood levels tested and everything to make sure of the foods that respond well with his blood type.
“We did it all to make sure that we lined everything up perfectly to make sure that he’s ready to go out there and perform.
“We’ve got it dialled in – he could go 10 rounds right now!”
