Jake Paul confirms Tommy Fury has pulled out of December fight
Jake Paul believes Gervonta Davis lost his most recent fight with Isaac Cruz in what he called a “clown performance”.
Davis was taken the distance for just the second time in his career by the game Mexican challenger Cruz but was given the nod by the judges.
And Paul believes that Davis was particularly unimpressive in his latest outing, slamming the lightweight star for putting in what he says was a disaster showing.
The pair have shared a rivalry of sorts for the past few months, after Paul included Davis on his “hit list” of future opponents, that also includes Canelo Alvarez and his own brother Logan.
“I thought he lost,” Paul replied when asked during a recent media call about Davis’ much criticised performance.
“He didn’t throw, or he says he hurt his left hand or whatever – he didn’t throw a single left and some of the judges gave those rounds to him.

“It doesn’t make any sense, he calls me a clown but he had a clown performance.”
And Paul believes that the fight was an example of the oft-cited boxing conspiracy theory that the “home fighter” was given the benefit of the doubt by judges.
Davis, an American fighting in Los Angeles and the fighter signed with Mayweather Promotions who put on the bout, won a number of close rounds to gain the decision win.
“I thought he lost,” Paul continued. “I think a lot of people will say that and I agree as well.
“I thought they were going to give him a draw because he’s signed with Mayweather Promotions, Al Haymon and we know how dirty boxing is, how judges are being paid off.
“Of course, those close swing rounds would get thrown to Gervonta Davis.”
Davis hit out at Paul in the lead-up to his fight with Cruz, who was a late replacement for his originally planned opponent Rolando Romero.
The boxing champion told the Full Send podcast : “I don’t know, But I know that Jake can’t fight. He can’t fight so.”

Davis and Paul both had pull-outs for their most recent fights, with Cruz replacing Romero at the Staples Center while Tyron Woodley is stepping in to the spot left vacant by Tommy Fury in Florida two weeks later.
Paul was set to face his first boxer with a winning record when he signed to fight Fury on December 18 at the Amalie Arena in Tampa.
But it emerged on Monday that the bout would be cancelled, with former UFC welterweight champion Woodley stepping in on two weeks’ notice to save the card.
Fury cited a chest infection and broken ribs as the reason for missing the fight, and is hoping to reschedule in the new year.
Paul has already faced Woodley once before, winning their fight back in August by split decision at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in his home town of Cleveland, Ohio.
