Mike Tyson lets out roar in latest training footage

Jake Paul has been told by UFC legend Michael Bisping that his potential fight with Mike Tyson would likely not be licensed in Las Vegas.

It was reported on Monday that Paul, 25, would face former heavyweight world champion Tyson, 55, in an exhibition fight in Las Vegas later this year.

Tyson – who spent New Year with Paul – was quick to shut down reports of the fight, stating: “This is new to me. I saw Jake in St. Barths and he never mentioned it.”

Paul has faced heavy criticism in his newfound boxing career for not fighting an “actual boxer” and is yet to address reports of the $50million fight.

But former UFC middleweight champion Bisping thinks Paul vs Tyson would likely not be sanctioned in Las Vegas due to their strict athletic commission.

“The fight with Mike Tyson, there’s a good chance that won’t get licensed either,” Bisping said on his YouTube channel.

“When Mike Tyson came back and fought Roy Jones Jr, I believe that was in Florida because they couldn’t get licensed in Las Vegas.

“Las Vegas is the fight capital of the world, the Nevada State Athletic Commissions that is one of the toughest to get licensed by.

“Is it gonna happen? According to Mike Tyson, the answer to that is no. I’d like to see [Paul] fight Tommy Fury, similar size, age and experience.”

Tyson revealed last year he planned to return to the ring in February and was linked to an exhibition bout with Logan Paul, Jake’s brother.

Jake had included Tyson on his five-fight bucket list, with current world titleholders Canelo Alvarez and Tyson Fury also being two desired opponents.

Tyson fought his last professional bout in 2005 when he was stopped by journeyman Kevin McBride.

And Bisping admitted that he was surprised Paul was announced to be fighting an actual boxer, but unsurprised it came in 55-year-old Tyson.

“I was like ‘wow, interesting’, but first of all not that interesting because it fits the formula, doesn’t it,” he continued.

“Well it doesn’t fully fit the formula because it’s a boxer, for one, and I’m not being a f****** hater but he’s yet to fight a boxer, but this is a boxer so that’s a little unusual.

“In the more usual, it’s a guy who’s almost 60 years old. I’m not disrespecting ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson, never in a world would I do that. The man is truly a legendary boxer,

“But he is almost 60 years old and I think because of what happened in Jake Paul’s last fight he kinds of needs somebody like a Mike Tyson.”
