Jake Paul believes that he will only have six more fights before winning a boxing world title and retiring from the sport.

The YouTube star has gone 4-0 thus far in his professional career, having beaten solely debutants with minimal boxing experience.

But he faces a considerable step up in Tommy Fury on December 18; an undefeated professional who was fighting in the amateurs before Paul had ever laced up a pair of gloves.

And Paul believes that once he has proven himself to the boxing public, he will be taking on bigger and better challenges, and will be fighting for a world title by his tenth outing.

“The sky is the limit for me right now,” Paul said during a lengthy Q&A session on his Youtube channel, responding to a question about what his ultimate boxing goal is.

“If I want to accomplish something it’s all about me being able to do that and me making the commitment and putting in the work required to do that.

“But I think right now, going to 10-0, being undefeated, fighting some big names, making history and maybe taking a world championship belt from somebody just to say I did it, and retiring at 10-0.”

The YouTuber first began training when he was called out for a white collar boxing match in February of 2018, eventually making his debut against fellow social media star Deji Olatunji.

And he continued training after stopping the Brit in Manchester, turning professional in 2020 to take on AnEsonGib, who had won his two white-collar boxing matches to that point.

He handily defeated ‘Gib’, real name Ali Al-Fakhri, before violently stopping basketball star Nate Robinson in November of last year.

Defeating Robinson set Paul up for a bout with MMA legend Ben Askren; a renowned Olympic wrestler and former world champion in top organisations Bellator and ONE FC.

But Askren’s striking had left a lot to be desired, and he was stopped within one round by Paul.

He then took a step up to face former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley in August, who he beat by split-decision after being hurt for the first time in his career.

That win came just moments after Fury had beaten his sparring partner Anthony Taylor on the undercard, with the pair finding themselves in an altercation after the fact.

Should Paul beat Fury, who holds a 7-0 professional record alongside his amateur background and fame from reality TV show Love Island, it would put to bed talk of his inability to fight a “real boxer”.

He has previously indicated an interest in fighting pound-for-pound great Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez for one of his many world titles.

Paul had even said that he would be happy to cut down to 175lbs to make a bout with Alvarez happen, which would be over a stone lighter than his last weigh-in.
