Many are giving up on the Los Angeles Lakers, but Jalen Rose isn’t ready to do that just yet.
On Get Up this morning, Rose was asked if the Lakers, currently 27-32 and in 13th place in the Western Conference standings, have what it takes to finish strong and make the postseason.
Rose’s answer was yes, and after mentioning some of the roster augmentations the team made prior to the NBA trade deadline, cited stars LeBron James and Anthony Davis as the primary reasons a resurgence is possible.
“Ultimately, having those two guys, and LeBron playing as dominant as he’s playing, if Anthony Davis can stay healthy, these Lakers will be in the playoffs,” Rose said.
The Lakers are two games behind the Oklahoma City Thunder, who currently sit in 10th place and would have the final spot in the play-in tournament if it started today. The Jazz and Trail Blazers are also in between LA and Oklahoma City.
LeBron, AD and company return to action tomorrow night against the Golden State Warriors.
