Nuggets guard Jamal Murray put on a show in Game 3 of the NBA Finals, recording a triple-double in a hostile environment. He finished Wednesday night’s contest with 34 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists.
What made Murray’s performance so impressive was that he managed to light up the boxscore while nursing a gruesome injury.
Murray suffered a nasty burn on his left hand while diving for a loose ball. He showed his injury to the media at Thursday’s practice.

Ros Gold-Onwude reported on Murray’s injury on Wednesday night.
“Nuggets Jamal Murray showed me his left hand which had broken open and scraped skin on the palm, that happened after he dove in game,” Gold-Onwude tweeted. “Throughout the game I noticed they tried putting ice on it and wrapping it at the end of the game with tape. Seemed the wound was stinging to touch so he pulled the wrap off. Even through that he played 45 minutes and had a 34-point triple-double.”
Murray will have a little over 24 hours to rest his hand before a pivotal Game 4 against the Heat.
