James Anderson, the 40-year-old veteran England pacer, has turned up for his county side Lancashire in their second match of the County Championship Division One 2023 against Essex.

After Lancashire got bundled out for 207 in the first innings, the right-arm pacer struck in the first over to bring back his team in the match.
Opening the bowling for Lancashire, Anderson struck on the third ball to dismiss Nick Browne for a duck. Later in the 11th over, he also got rid of his former England captain Alastair Cook who was trapped in front of the stumps.
The ball nipped back sharply as the 38-year-old was beaten comprehensively and hit on the pads. Anderson straightaway led a ferocious appeal as the umpire raised his finger. The official Twitter handle of the County Championship has shared a video of the same.
