James Jordan slams Strictly star Will Mellor’s dance as ‘so bad’

Former Strictly Come Dancing professional James Jordan, 44, has admitted he thought parts of the Paso Doble danced by Will Mellor, 46, and his partner Nancy Xu, 31, tonight were “so bad”. The former dancer criticised the actor’s “cape work” as he confessed he felt others were more deserving of a place in the Strictly final.

Tonight was the Strictly semi-final, as celebrities and their partners took to the dance floor to perform two separate routines with the hope of seriously impressing the judges.

Will and Nancy were the last couple seen battling for their place in the final, but not everyone was impressed by their performance.

The pair’s first dance was a Paso Doble to ‘Uccen’ by Taalbi Brothers, which prompted some criticism from former Strictly pro James.

The star, who often shares his opinions on the BBC show with his 337,800 Twitter followers, shared his thoughts on the routine.

“Plus the Paso is quite an easy dance and I feel he has fell at the last hurdle unfortunately.

“And I had money on him,” James concluded with a frustrated emoji. (sic)

Later on, Will and Nancy closed out the evening with their couple’s choice dance, which earned them a much-improved score of 38 (9,10,9,10).

While the judges seemed to be on board with the energetic, retro number, James was not so convinced.

“Can’t believe I’m saying this because like I said he was my favourite to win early on,” James wrote.

“But I was bored and to be honest when I was watching I thought that’s what I would look like doing street dance (and I’d be bad) – and it was dad dancing (sorry).

“Not my bag at all,” he added, before later tweeting: “He’s the weakest left but the public love an underdog and I’m sure will save him.” (sic)

Strictly Come Dancing: The Results returns tomorrow at 8.15 on BBC One.
