Jamie Oliver admits wife Jools wants more children after baby number five

Jamie Oliver admitted his wife Jools really wants to have another child after having five.

The TV chef and his wife Juliette got married in 2000 and share children Poppy Honey Rosie, 19, Daisy Boo Pamela, 18, Petal Blossom Rainbow, 12, Buddy Bear Maurice, 11, River Rocket, five.

Appearing on The Chris Moyles Show on Radio X, Jamie explained how his wife is simply ‘maternal’.

Chris joked about the time he was hanging out with the chef: “I think I made a joke about them having 98 children and Jamie goes ‘yeah, we’re done now’ and then Jools looked and went ‘although one more might be nice’ and Jamie looked at her.”

Jamie responded: “It was uncomfortable! She’s just so maternal and she’s got so much love to give I can’t… but what do you do? I just keep saying ‘but what about me? Don’t worry about the kids! Moi!’

He went on to discuss his newest family member, Conker the dog.

“That’s the great thing about a dog,” Jamie added. “I’ve never seen anyone in my family more pleased to see me.

“I’ve only had it a month! And I think ‘yes! That’s what I want when I get home. I want somersaults and circles and trying to bite your own tail.’”

Meanwhile, Jools recently revealed she might use IVF to try to have another child at 47 after having five miscarriages.

Jools had her fifth miscarriage during the lockdown and has spoken about them in the past, but in an interview, she told how the second time it happened she “could have died” if she was not rushed into hospital because she lost so much blood.

Asked about having a sixth child, Jools said: “Once you have these miscarriages you are always like, this baby is meant to be here, I have to keep trying.

“So I have thought about IVF because having researched it and spoken to some amazing people, it seems like the right option for my age.

“But you know that’s it’s hard because also I’ve got a partner you know, I’ve got to think about him I’m not so sure he’s that keen to do it that way. So I don’t want to push anything, because I’m very lucky.

“I presume when I get to an age when I’m in the menopause. I will think actually ‘thank God’ I will feel relieved that it’s not possible and I can just carry on with my life
