Jasmine Sanders rocked the cutest ‘90s spiky bun at the GLAMOUR Women Of The Year Awards 2022

We all know the ’90s spiky bun has made a triumphant return in the past few years, but Jasmine Sanders took the style and ran with it at the GLAMOUR Women Of The Year Awards 2022. The model (also known as Golden Barbie on Instagram) kept her fashion look simple as she walked the red carpet with a simple, slinky, fitted black slip dress that pooled to the floor. Her beauty look on the other hand most definitely brought the drama.

From one side it looked like Jasmine had just snatched her hair back into the neatest, nine-tiest of ‘90s buns. But as she turned her head, a series of four XXL spikes became visible. We’re talking 20cm fronds that could rival the crown on the Statue of Liberty.

Elsewhere for her glam, Jasmine kept it classic with beautifully groomed brows, a sparkly gold smokey eye with majorly fluttery lashes and a ’90s lined nude lip.

We love to see a remix on a classic, with the ‘90s bun proving a favourite with the likes of Megan Thee Stallion, Billie Eilish, Bella Hadid, Doja Cat and Kendall Jenner all rocking the look recently. And we’ve even seen it brushed off by Hilary Duff who gave the hairstyle an outing back in the noughties as Lizzie Maguire.

The trick, lay down the slicked mid-height ponytail, wind it into a low bun and keep the ends out, ready to make into a statement. Straighten them flat, gel the ends then straighten again to lock the spikes into place.

With party season on its way in, it’s the best time to go big on your beauty look, so we will be taking our cue from Jasmine Sanders and keeping this effortlessly extra hairstyle in our locker.
