Jason Momoa’s Got a Mohawk-Ponytail-Braid Thing Goin’ On Now

Jason Momoa’s Got a Mohawk-Ponytail-Braid Thing Goin’ On Now

In September 2022, the world wept when Jason Momoa shaved off his long hair. He didn’t go completely bald, as only the sides of his hair had been buzzed off, but it was definitely a different look from his signature long hair. It’s been a couple of months since then, and no, Momoa hasn’t let his sides grow out yet. But we are enjoying the braided mohawk ponytail he wore for a recent Fast X screening in New Zealand.

The actor arrived at the film screening, held on May 13, with his hair slicked back into a single braid. We wouldn’t be shocked if he ran a little hair gel in his hair before braiding it into the neat plait. From the front, it’s almost hard to tell if Momoa even has that much hair left. His sides had a few millimeters of hair, but that’s it.

He doesn’t always share a 360-degree view of his hair, so it’s unclear if or how much his hair has grown since the infamous shaving. However, we did notice a surprising lack of blonde at the ends of his hair. His hair was not completely back to its natural brunette hue. Caramel brown streaks ran through the darker brown hair, but there was not an inch of his prior blonde highlights in sight.
