ESPN’s Jay Williams has identified the “scariest” player left in the NBA playoffs. But it’s not Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic.

Appearing on Friday’s edition of First Take with Kendrick Perkins, Williams listed his five “scariest players remaining in the NBA playoffs.” Making the list were Jokic, Jayson Tatum, Jamal Murray and Anthony Davis second through fifth.

But the top spot belonged to the driving force behind the Miami Heat’s rise from an eighth seed to 1-0 in the Eastern Conference Finals: Jimmy Butler.

“You talk about being the trenches? Come on Perk… We ain’t losing no damn fight if he comes to fight with me… We about to win that fight. That’s what Jimmy Butler’s like.”

Jimmy Butler has really looked like a changed man throughout the NBA playoffs.

After averaging a respectable 23 points per game in the regular season, missing the All-Star Game in the process, Butler has dominated in the postseason. He’s averaged 31.5 points per game over 11 playoff games and the Heat are 9-2 in games he’s started.

If Butler can continue this form, the Heat will be nigh unbeatable.

Did Jay Williams get the pick right? Will Butler emerge as the most dangerous player in the NBA Finals as well, or will his run end in the Conference Finals?
