The Boston Celtics came within one game of making a second consecutive trip to the NBA Finals, but lost at home to the Miami Heat to end their season.
All-NBA forward Jaylen Brown played poorly in that Game 7 loss, prompting some to wonder if the Celtics would be better off moving on from him. As a multiple-time All-Star, Brown will command a great deal of interest on the trade market.
According to one reporter, that’s exactly what’s happening.

According to Aaron J. Fentress of the Oregonian, there has been “chatter” about Brown potentially being traded to the Portland Trail Blazers.
PointsBet Sportsbook says Portland has the third-best odds of being where Brown plays his next game. Boston leads those odds with the Dallas Mavericks in second place.
The Blazers don’t have a lot of tangible assets, but they could offer draft capital. Portland has the No. 3 overall pick in the upcoming NBA Draft.
With this draft seen as having two truly elite players in Victor Wembanyama and Scoot Henderson, the Blazers could be interested in moving their pick to acquire a player they know is a proven commodity.
For the Celtics, any move involving the Trail Blazers likely starts and ends with Damian Lillard. Moving a player like Brown merits a large return, and it doesn’t get much better than Lillard if they decide to go that route.
