Noughties nostalgia has reached a whole nother level and even its icons are intrigued. Since we’re all out here copying Jennifer Lopez, Jen An and Queen Bey, it’s only fair that they browse their own archives too. And that’s exactly what our girl Jenny from the Block has done.
It started with that jungle green palm print Versace dress, which the singer re-wore on Versace’s SS20 runway, almost 20 years on from shutting down the Grammy’s in 2000 with a sheer maxi dress slit all the way down to her navel.
Then for last year’s Met Gala appearance, JLo nodded back to her 2001 VMAs ensemble with a cowgirl hat and animal hide dress.
And, last night she picked one of her lesser-known looks to dust off for an interview on Good Morning America. Opting for another 2000s look, it seems like JLo took her inspo from the fashion and beauty moment she served up at the Bamboozled premiere in 2000 where she rocked gold-rimmed Ray-Ban aviators, sparkly gold eyeshadow, a nude glossy lip and ultra shiny, liquid hair, flicked noughties-style at the ends.

Twenty-two years on from the OG ensemble, JLo looked almost identical for her GMA appearance, only her hair’s a little longer. Even Jennifer’s hair stylist, Chris Appleton, had to pay homage to the resemblance, captioning his Instagram post of the look: “Giving jlo 2.0 glam .”

It means there’s a new Jennifer haircut in town to revisit with a 2022 spin. Jennifer Aniston’s The Rachel has had a modern makeover, shaping up to be one of the biggest hair trends of summer 2022, and now we’re expecting to see Jennifer Lopez’s The JLo to take off, with straight, sleek midi length hair and subtle noughties flicked ends headlining, too. We’re here for it.
