“Worst Case Ontario” made its category debut on the game show and stumped the three Americans vying to be champions.

“If you’re not Ontarian, these are imaginary situations,” host Ken Jennings told the three competitors.
Jake DeArruda, a delivery dispatcher from Vermont, kicked off the Ontario category.
“Zombies (& not the slow ones) are making their way from Detroit to this city across the Ambassador Bridge,” the answer read.

Sam Meehan, an attorney from Santa Cruz, Calif., quickly – and correctly – gave the correct response: “What is Windsor?”
The next question tested the trio’s sports knowledge but Canadian geography can be tough for the Americans.
“The intraprovince rivalry between the national capital’s Ottawa Senators and these provincial capital NHLers comes to a fever of hate.”
As you all know, “the Flames” was incorrect but Meehan buzzed in with the obviously correct answer: “What are the, uh … Maple Leafs?”

Meehan’s streak continued when he was able to identify Toronto’s CN Tower but then, once again, our geography had all three scrambling.
“This province directly to the west makes a series of nighttime cow-tipping raids, causing general chaos,” Jennings said.
“What is Saskatchewan?” DeArruda asked.
“What is Alberta?” Meehan tried.

The third contestant, Sarah Howard from North Carolina, didn’t even make an attempt so Jennings had to break it to them.
“Let me narrow it down for you. Manitoba.”
The final answer from the Ontario category was another easy one — for Ontarians and, this time, eventual winner DeArruda.

“Worst case? Ill-tempered aquatic creatures emerge from this Great Lake upon which Thunder Bay sits,” Jennings said.
“Superior,” DeArruda answered.
And he was superior, winning his second straight day and taking his total winnings to $47,994.
Sadly, there was no reference or tribute to Trebek’s place of birth, Sudbury.
