JetBlue Teams With NYC-Based Legacy Records For New Mint Food Menu

Dining while flying is often not the most elegant of experiences. We see it as a means to an end. We are en route to our big adventure (or necessary business trip) and we just need to be fueled up to hit the ground running once we arrive. We don’t really expect the food to be all that innovative or exciting – it’s airplane food, after all! – but sometimes, we’re surprised. And that’s a very good thing.

JetBlue teamed up with Delicious Hospitality Group in late 2020 for a plan that involved featuring onboard menus based on fare from DHG’s popular New York City restaurants. The first restaurant to be featured was Charlie Bird, then Pasquale Jones (which is available through the end of this month).

Coming up next is Legacy Records, which will be reflected in a newly updated onboard Mint dining menu on August 1. For this third installment of JetBlue’s restaurant rotation with DHG, there’ll be a fun update to the onboard dining and wine/cocktail menu in the style Legacy Records is known for. That means your next flight may just have some fun and inventive Mediterranean-inspired dishes, like Crab Fregola Salad, or Roasted Chicken and Cavatelli. These dishes were all created by DHG exclusively for JetBlue, and were adapted to be best enjoyed during in-flight dining.

“When we developed JetBlue Mint, our refreshing take on premium travel, we wanted to work with like-minded partners who are experts in their own fields,” said Mariya Stoyanova, director, product development at JetBlue, in a statement.

The airline turned to the experts for this partnership. The experts in food, that is. “As an airline, we know airplanes – but we are not experts in restaurant hospitality. Chef Ryan Hardy and the team at Delicious Hospitality Group (DHG) – the name behind acclaimed NYC restaurants Legacy Records, Charlie Bird and Pasquale Jones – were up for the challenge and excited about bringing that same experience you’d have at one of their restaurants to 35,000 feet. DHG is not only known for their fresh and innovative menus, but also for their world-class wine programs, music and hospitality. We didn’t just put Delicious Hospitality Group on our menu – Chef Ryan Hardy and team helped us rethink and elevate the entire dining and hospitality experience in Mint,” said Stoyanova.

Sometimes making it through those long travel days requires a glass of wine (or three!). There’ll also be an updated wine menu to enjoy with those dishes. Or, on their own. Traveling can be stressful!
